PRUDE BOYS: "THE REUNION" MUSIC VIDEO PREMIERE

Hailing from Detroit-neighboring Hamtramck, MI, Prude Boys have evolved from their foundational garage punk origins into a poignant yet energetic force, frequently compared to bands like The Pretenders and Ex Hex.

Their powerful song “The Reunion” spotlights jangly guitars, bouncing drums and bass, and a textural, vibrato-heavy vocal performance from Caroline Thornbury. Building upon itself, the tune shifts when contrasting fuzzed-out choruses meet an ascending, sparkly guitar solo. The video illuminates the song’s coiling dynamics like a dream.

The creative process for “The Reunion” can be summarized as “completely self-produced, shot, and edited on a shoestring budget. Conjuring ethereal, vibrantly saturated images of Suspiria (1977) the video combines with playful theatrics of the band’s previous video endeavors.”

Releasing through the band’s very own Grumble Records, Prude Boy’s 7” release will be out on vinyl and streaming platforms on June 14th, featuring two songs: “The Reunion” and “Daddy.”
