Lacing up their cleats, Hinds takes it to the soccer fields with the release of their latest single “New For You.” After a busy two years including touring with Twin Peaks and releasing their single “Caribbean Moon” in August, the band jumped into the new era of Hinds with the  reveal of their upcoming album I Don’t Run out April 6th. The announcement was accompanied by the “New For You” video directed and edited by lead singer Carlotta Cosials, sticking true to their DIY roots. In between shots of the band shouting along to their new track, the girls embraced their sporty side during an intense soccer match into the night.

Created by Cosials and Ana Garcia Perrote in 2011, the duo began making music under the name Deers. From the get go however,  it was obvious that there was something special about them, prompting the girls to do some recording outside their bedrooms. Adding drummer Amber Grimbergen and bassist Ade Martin in 2014, they began breaking into the scene. With the release of Leave Me Alone in 2016 Hinds proved within the first jangly seconds of “Garden” that they were a force to be reckoned with. A riot of an album from the peeling varnish of “I’ll Be Your Man,” to the sunlit sentiment of “Walking Home,” they possessed a bewitching confidence and a reckless disregard for any conventions.

Since that first introduction, Hinds have been unstoppable, proven with the success of “New For You.” Striking a balance somewhere between surf-rock and garage-grime, it upholds the raucous spirit of the band effortlessly. Simultaneously seeking closure and vowing to be the best version of themselves, the band’s rowdy vocals makes it seem like they’re screaming the message for everyone to hear. The subtle rebellion accentuated by their non-conformist attitude and dedication to creating their own sound gives them an alluring sense of confidence.

“New For You” emulates everything that Hinds is: energetic, youthful, exciting. With a playlist of influences ranging from Fleetwood Mac to King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, the bands influences come together seamless. Giving a brief glimpse of what’s to come on I Don’t Run and a taste of what the past two years have been like, Hinds has left everyone counting down to April 6.
